
Tom Ward to Speak at SNU’s Peer Learning Network
On Thursday, February 9th, The Peer Learning Network at Southern Nazarene University will be hosting Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sandridge Energy, Tom L. Ward at The Petroleum Club in downtown Oklahoma City.
“Mr. Tom Ward is a leader of leaders in the Energy field and the corporate community at large. Our Peer Learning Network partners and guests will benefit greatly from his insights into building and sustaining great businesses of integrity,” said Dr. Terry Toler, VP of University Advancement and Church Relations.
Prior to Sandridge Energy Ward served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and a Director of Chesapeake Energy Corporation from the time he co-founded the company with Aubrey K. McClendon in 1989 until February 2006. In 2000, Mr. Ward and his son, Trent, co-founded White Fields, Inc., a home for severely abused and neglected boys.
Ward will be speaking at the PLN luncheon which is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Petroleum Club Downtown Oklahoma City as a part of SNU’s Peer Learning Network speaker series. Leadership Northwest Visits the Ziglar Center
Members of The Northwest Chamber of Commerce program, Leadership Northwest, were on campus this week (or Wednesday, September 15, 2010) for this year’s opening session hosted by the Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership. Leadership Northwest is a program developed by the Northwest Chamber of Commerce that seeks to inform, motivate, and better prepare its participants to take on leadership roles in service to the community.
The opening program was facilitated by the Zig Ziglar Center. This year’s group includes SNU's own, Dr. Mary Jones.
Leadership Northwest participants come from a variety of backgrounds including business, education, government and non-profit organizations. Each class is unique and commits to a special project for the benefit of the community.

Ziglar Center Peer Learning Network Welcomes John King
BETHANY, Okla. (September 9, 2010) - Southern Nazarene University will be hosting John King on campus, Thursday, September 30, 2010. King will be speaking in the Peer Learning Network sessions from 8:00am-11:00am in the Royce Brown Building.
King is co-founder and senior partner of CultureSync, a management consulting firm that focuses on Leadership, Strategy, Cultural Change and Executive Coaching. The firm has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies on the connection between business culture and performance.
King has co-authored two books, Tribal Leadership, published by HarperCollins and The Coaching Revolution, a book presenting the author’s best practices in the realm of executive coaching. He also founded the CultureSync Academy, offering leadership training modules and coaching certification courses in the Tribal Leadership Method.
King is a keynote speaker, and is nationally recognized as a senior teacher, coach, and program leader. Clients of his coaching practice have been featured on all major television networks and in The Wall Street Journal. He is part of the leadership development team at Sierra Health Foundation and has trained at Collier’s University, CB Richard Ellis University, and The California Leadership Institute. King is also a frequent guest lecturer in the Marshall School of Business and the School of Public Policy, Planning, and Development at USC.

SNU Zig Ziglar Center Hosts "Peacemaking For Business" Workshop
BETHANY, Okla. (September 13, 2010) - The Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership at Southern Nazarene University is hosting the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium as they present “Peacemaking for Business.” Sessions will be held in the Royce Brown building on the SNU campus from 5:30pm-7:30pm on October 12, 19, 26, and November 2 facilitated by Mr. Bill Blew.
Blew is a former Oklahoma District Court Judge and a graduate of Rhodes College and Vanderbilt School of Law with extensive experience in conflict resolution. He is also founder and executive director of The Olive Branch; a non-profit ministry that helps people find peace in relationships by teaching them how to deal with conflict from a biblical perspective.
“Peacemaking for Business” focuses on resolving the central issues of conflict while helping individuals preserve and restore lasting, healthy relationships. The course is recommended for anyone desiring to develop personal skills in the area of conflict resolution and relationship restoration, particularly business leaders, owners and human resources professionals.
